Friday Links (asthmatic otter edition)

It's already the third Friday in September, that most blessèd month! Soon it will be the autumnal equinox, as the horrors of the burning season begin to fade away.

And thank goodnees it's FRIDAY!

Anyway, here is a collection of some of the things that I ran across over the course of the week which struck me as worthy of being shared. Sorted into categories with headings so you can skip more easily. This is not all of the links I meant to share, because there was a problem with the system I use to save them and I lost a couple days worth.
